Payal Rohatgi, though a qualified engineer, entered the glamorous world of modeling and films through the Femina Miss India contest 2000. Soon, she shot to fame by winning Super Model Miss Tourism World 2001 title. Thus, she stepped into modeling followed by filmdom. She was associated with top brands like Bajaj, LG, Britannia, Nescafe, Jaguar and Dabur. But, the Cadbury Temptations, made her very popular. Then followed her stint in music videos by setting the small screen on fire, with established names like Silk Route (Sapnay) and Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Humko Hai Poora Yakeen'.

This journey continued in Harry Baweja's 'Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai', 'Plan' 'Rakth', Subhash Ghai's '36 Chaina Town' and Madhur handarkar's 'Corporate' .The smashits team met with her at the Zimkhana club of Gurgaon, near Delhi, on the Valentine Day.

Have you shot other songs after 'O Sikander'?

After '36 China Town' I worked on the TV promotion of 'Corporate's song. This was excellent and got branded my name and visibility throughout the world. I am playing the role of a caber singer in 'Priyadarshan's 'Dhol'.

How has been your travel from modeling to Bollywood?


Still, I have a long way to go. But, career my graph fluctuated at regular intervals. I have learnt lots of things. I have also realized that I shouldn't have done certain things though I am not apologetic towards any work that I have done. I worked with Abbas Mastan and Priyadarshan. I hope I am making good progress.

What have you planned for future?

I am doing 'Dhol' which is being produced by Priyadarshan's Percept. 'Dhol' is a comedy.

Which role from old films would you prefer to play?

I watch a lot of movies these days. I would like to play roles like Madhuri's in 'Devdas', Tabu's in 'Maqbul' and' Madhubala'.

What type of response do you get from the viewers?

I hope the viewers have enjoyed my performances. So, I think that I am getting good response.

Would you give any massage on the Valentine day?

You have seen me going through the changes, so just support me by watching my films.

What type of role do you want to play?

Obviously, I would like to be in the lead role but before doing that I need to brand my name.

Which is your favorite actress performance wise?

I think everybody has become more conscious to his or her work but Priyanka has good height and is certainly excelling in films.

Who would you give credit for your success?

The credit for whatever I have achieved goes to my mother because she has been with me while taking decisions.
